SkyWalk, A Walk in the Sky
Structure and Design
- Glass Balcony: The SkyWalk offers visitors a unique experience by walking on a glass balcony at a height of 193.85 meters. This walk, accompanied by stunning views, will become a passion for adrenaline seekers.
- Dimensions and Materials: The balcony has a depth of 2.70 meters and a length of 26.25 meters, utilizing approximately 30 tons of steel and 20 tons of glass in its construction.
- Installation and Placement: The main supports and railings of the balcony were lifted 194 meters high and installed using specialized cranes. This operation took between 2 to 7 days to complete.
- The pulling of the beam into place from the ground took 2 days to complete.
Construction Process
- The project’s contractor, Diem, had a total of 538 employees working on this significant project, including 45 white-collar and 493 blue-collar workers.
- The project was completed with a total of 144,734 man-hours of work. These figures do not include the architectural design teams, Emaar and Emaar consultants, or the contractor Saytekno, responsible for the SkyWalk project.
- Materials Used: Approximately 100 tons of steel were utilized in the construction of SkyView, excluding the SkyWalk.
